The new Office 2007 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs save files in different file formats than earlier
versions of these programs. Microsoft has a Compatibility Pack that
can be downloaded to enable earlier versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to read these files and save them in the
earlier compatible file format.
If you do not have Microsoft Office and you install any or all of the viewers, install the Compatibility Pack after
you install the viewers.
For all product downloads, be sure to read and or print the overview, system requirements, and installation
instructions.
If you go to Microsoft's Download Center to
download, be sure to download the latest version as some of the older versions of the viewers are still listed.

With these viewers, you can view, copy, and print Word, PowerPoint, or Excel documents, without actually having
Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. You know how you get those emails with PowerPoint, Word, or Excel
files attached.....now you can open
them now that you have the viewer.
